Cock of the Roost (Watercolour) – Sue Smith

Pantiles in Full Bloom (Acrylic) – Sue Smith
Dave and Sue Smith
Sue and Dave took up painting in the mid nineties, shortly after Dave gave up work to become Sue's full time carer. Sue, who has lived in Rusthall most of her life, was diagnosed with having Multiple Sclerosis over 25 years ago, and, when out, has to travel everywhere in her wheelchair.
They have 2 children , 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. They are both Christians and attend Culverden E.F.C. in Tunbridge Wells.
They are both members of the R.T.W.A.S where they regularly enjoy their hobby with other such artists. Sue paints mostly in watercolour, pastel, acrylic, acrylic ink, and also enjoys very much her encaustic painting. This is an old technique of applying coloured waxes to paper, using a travel and soldering iron.
Dave paints mainly in watercolour and acrylic, but spends most of his time in the cutting of the mounts and framing all of their pictures.
They both enjoy their hobby, and Sue particularly, finds painting very relaxing and therapeutic.
